Frequently Asked Questions
General Information
What makes Christian counseling different from secular counseling?
At The CrossWay, we integrate evidence-based psychological practices with a biblical worldview. While we use many of the same clinical tools as secular therapists, we also recognize the importance of spiritual health, prayer, and Scripture in the healing process. We respect where you are on your journey and will only integrate spiritual elements to the degree that you are comfortable.
What areas do you specialize in?
Our team provides support for a wide range of needs, including anxiety, depression, marriage and family reconciliation, grief and loss, trauma recovery, and adolescent therapy. We offer both in-person appointments and secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions for your convenience.
Insurance & Payments
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. To make care as accessible as possible, The CrossWay is an in-network provider with the following plans:
-
Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS)
-
Blue Care Network
-
United Health
-
Cigna
-
Priority Health
What does "In-Network" mean for my costs?
Being in-network means we have a contract with these carriers to provide services at a pre-negotiated rate. For many clients—especially those on Medicare or Medicaid—this results in a $0 out-of-pocket cost or a small standard co-pay. We will bill these insurance companies directly, so you don't have to worry about the paperwork.
What if I have a different insurance provider or no insurance?
If you have a provider not listed above, you may still be able to use "Out-of-Network" benefits. We can provide you with a monthly Superbill to submit for potential reimbursement. For those who are uninsured or have high-deductible plans, we offer a sliding fee scale based on household income to ensure financial constraints aren't a barrier to your healing. We also accept HSA and FSA cards for all session payments.
Getting Started
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first session is a dedicated "Intake Session." Your counselor will spend time getting to know your story, discussing your goals for therapy, and answering any questions you have about the process. Standard individual sessions last 50 minutes, while marriage or family sessions may be scheduled for longer durations depending on your specific needs.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Getting started is simple. You can fill out our New Client Inquiry Form on our website or call our intake coordinator. We will verify your insurance benefits and match you with a counselor who best fits your clinical needs and your schedule.
Is my information confidential?
Absolutely. Your privacy is a priority. We adhere to strict HIPAA regulations and professional ethical codes. All clinical staff members are either Licensed Professionals (LPCs/LMSWs) or supervised associates holding advanced degrees in counseling or social work
